I wish you a bountiful New Year filled with an abundance of all good things. Ready your resolutions, we are going to need some powerful ones. If you are like most people you want to a) lose weight b) exercise more c) stop procrastinating d)stop smoking e)clean your house f)throw stuff away g)make more money... have I left anyone out? Rise up and redeem yourself, resolve to make it real, resist no longer. Today is your day. Now, of course I have a few things that might help. First read this to learn self hypnosis. Then click on the free hypnosis session above. The most important thing you must realize about resolutions is that your inner mind knows that you will fail. Your subconscious mind knows that you have failed at resolutions in the past, you feel dread at the very thought of having another thing TO DO, and you are probably sure that even with the best of intentions it will all fizzle in a month or so. What on earth shall we do? Are we doomed to fail? Quite Possibly. Take heart... I have a plan. I really don't mean to beat you up about this resolution thing. I am here to help. Here is an interesting letter from a customer. Her problem is typical- she is trying to stop drinking alcohol, and using the self hypnosis techniques, but the suggestions she is giving herself are only making the problem worse. As I listen to your CD's I feel so many positive changes!.....I still have days that I drink....too many...but I feel I am beginning to get more insight and seeing a little more clearly "when" I feel a need to drink.....mostly when I am alone.....As I do the self-hypnosis part of the CD, I have been telling myself, "I have no desire for a drink," "I release the need for alcohol"....but now after listening to the Intro part (which I skipped and went straight for the hypnosis part!), I am thinking maybe those are negative statements....so when you have time, could you please word the statements for me so that I receive the most positive impact?.....I am wishing you and your family a Happy New Year!.....Thanks and love- Jenifer
Yes Jenifer, you are right! Those are negative suggestions. The subconscious mind can only pick up and act on the part of the instruction that tells it to do something. Like this-"don't think of a pink elephant with blue sneakers" Your mind can only THINK of that which it is told not to! "Don't notice your feet on the floor" "I wont eat sugar again" "I don;t want a cigarette" Your mind can only notice the positive part of the phrase. eat sugar - want a cigarette
So you say to yourself- "I have no desire for a drink"- your mind creates Desire for a drink
"I release the need for alcohol"- your mind creates need for alcohol. Understand? Not good. The suggestions and self talk you use MUST create a positive feeling and the more emotion you put into it the better.
Here are some better choices for suggestions to not drink alcohol.-
I love to drink water, it cleanses my thoughts and releases feelings about alcohol.
I feel a great sense of freedom from alcohol.
My body feels wonderful satisfied and in control when I drink water, juice, and warm tea.
I love the feeling that I am in control. I easily release alcohol from my life.
My mind is clear and I enjoy this clarity.
Everything I do supports my desire to have clarity.
I easily forget about alcohol, and easily ignore it when it is around.
I am in control.
I love the sense of pride that I get when I drink water, juice or tea and forget about alcohol.
There you have it. Now, think about your New Years Resolution to exercise. Yes, I am talkin to YOU! Use the positive words that you make you feel good, rather than dread or failure when you think about working out. My body craves exercise more everyday. Every time I think about working out I feel more energized and focused. My brain love the clarity I get from working out. Every day, I love to exercise.

So let's say you workout for about two months and then stop for a month. Have you failed at your resolution? HECK NO! You succeeded in working out for two months. So, you took a month off. Big deal. Just make a decision (not a frikken resolution) to workout again today, and this week, and live in the moment for a change.
Every night before bed, tell yourself HOW YOU WANT TO FEEL when you wake up in the morning. NOT for the rest of your life - cuz that is one heck of a daunting task - but just for tomorrow.
